Authenticated hang or crash via undisclosed optimizer flaw
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server and MySQL Cluster 9.7.0 through 9.7.1 allows remote authenticated users to crash or hang the service. The flaw is in the Server Optimizer, but Oracle has not disclosed the optimizer operation or crafted input that triggers the failure. Low-privileged access over the MySQL protocol is sufficient, and successful attacks cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
