Authenticated database hang or repeatable crash
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server and MySQL Cluster 9.0.0 through 9.7.1 allows remote authenticated users to hang or crash databases. Oracle identifies the affected locus only as the Server Optimizer component and has not disclosed the optimizer operation or input that triggers the failure. Low-privileged MySQL Protocol access is required, and successful attacks interrupt availability without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
