Memory disclosure and crash via unchecked SSH lengths
Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026
Improper SSH packet-length handling in TeraTerm Project TTSSH2 1.00 alpha1 through 3.6.1 allows attackers to disclose memory or crash Tera Term. The SSH2 packet parser processes inconsistent received length fields, causing out-of-bounds reads and temporary null-byte writes into adjacent memory. Reachability requires a connection to an attacker-controlled server or packet alteration by man-in-the-middle attackers; write values are not attacker-controlled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
