Relative path traversal in OpenSSH sftp before 10.4 allows remote attackers to write files to unintended locations through a malicious server. The command-line download path handling for “sftp host:/path .” fails to constrain the local destination, but upstream material does not identify the responsible function or server response. Exploitation requires a user to initiate that download from an attacker-controlled server; the documented consequence is file placement outside the intended location.
