Unauthenticated file read via unchecked path join
Published Apr 10, 2026 · Updated Apr 10, 2026
Path traversal in CowAgent 2.0.0 through 2.0.4 allows remote attackers to read files accessible to the service via the memory content API. The MemoryService._resolve_path method joined the filename parameter beneath the memory directory without canonicalizing the result or enforcing containment. The web channel must be enabled and network-reachable; no authentication or user interaction is required, and exposure is limited to files readable by the service process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
