Upload disclosure and modification via omitted overrideAccess
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Incorrect authorization in JHB Software Payload Alt Text Plugin 0.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to read and alter protected uploads. The generate and bulk handlers pass attacker-selected collection and document identifiers to Payload Local API findByID and update calls without overrideAccess: false. Any valid CMS session passes the default endpoint guard, bypassing collection read and update rules and permitting disclosure plus overwrites of alt and keywords fields.
