File-existence disclosure via embedded SVG image references
Published Jul 28, 2026 · Updated Jul 28, 2026
Information disclosure in dompdf before 3.1.6 allows remote attackers to confirm backend file and directory existence through crafted SVG images. The SVG renderer resolves file URI values from href or xlink:href attributes inside a data-URI image and produces observably different PDF output when a target path exists. Exploitation requires an application to render attacker-controlled unrestricted HTML, and the oracle reveals path existence rather than file contents.
