Unauthenticated service interruption via BMP canvas allocation
Published Jul 28, 2026 · Updated Jul 28, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in dompdf before 3.1.6 allows remote attackers to interrupt PDF rendering via crafted BMP images. Helpers::dompdf_getimagesize trusts width and height from the BMP header, and conversion allocates a GD canvas without bounding their product. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled HTML to reach a rendering call; one small inline image can consume hundreds of megabytes and stall or terminate workers.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
