Admin-to-server command execution via exposed ApplicationContext
Published Apr 9, 2026 · Updated Apr 9, 2026
Server-side template injection in PublicCMS 4.0.202506.a through 6.202506.d allows remote authenticated users to execute server commands. AbstractFreemarkerView.doRender leaves the FreeMarker Application object unwrapped, exposing Spring's ApplicationContext so templates can relax class resolution and instantiate Execute. Administrative access to create or edit a template is required; successful exploitation runs commands with the CMS server process's privileges.
