Build-host SSRF and file disclosure via unrestricted $ref
Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026
SSRF and file inclusion in Microsoft Kiota before 1.29.1 and 1.30.0 through 1.32.4 allow attackers to access build hosts via crafted $ref values. The OpenAPI reference loader follows HTTP(S), absolute-path, and out-of-tree references without an origin or path allowlist, then inlines the fetched schema. Exploitation requires a developer or CI job to generate a client from an attacker-controlled or attacker-influenced description; consequences are confined to outbound requests, local-file disclosure through generated output, and untrusted schema inclusion, with no code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
