Code execution via unescaped PHP completion class name
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Code injection in Vim before 9.2.0736 allows context-dependent attackers to execute operating-system commands through a crafted PHP file. phpcomplete#GetClassContentsStructure() concatenates a buffer-derived class or trait name into a single-quoted search() command passed to win_execute() without escaping a quote or Ex-command separator. Execution occurs as the Vim user only after a victim opens the file with filetype plugins enabled and manually invokes PHP omni-completion.
