Internal data disclosure via decoded job path traversal
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Path traversal in Joplin Server before 3.7.7 allows remote authenticated users to read transcription-backend responses via crafted job IDs. The transcribe handlers append a decoded id directly to the backend URL, so encoded slash and parent-directory segments escape the intended /transcribe/ path. Exploitation requires TRANSCRIBE_ENABLED and a valid account, and it exposes responses from reachable administrative, health, or configuration endpoints.
