Host trap-data forgery via delimiter injection

Published Oct 5, 2026 · Updated Oct 5, 2026

SNMP trap injection in Zabbix 6.0.0 through 6.0.47, 7.0.0 through 7.0.28, and 7.4.0 through 7.4.12 lets remote attackers forge host trap data. The Perl zabbix_trap_receiver.pl script writes unneutralized trap values into a file where ZBXTRAP marks a new record and selects its host. Exploitation requires a server or proxy configured to use that receiver and an attacker able to send an accepted SNMP trap; the forged record can be attributed to another monitored host.

Exploitability

Present is not the same as exploitable

Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
