Monitoring interruption via NUL-byte binary item processing
Published Oct 5, 2026 · Updated Oct 5, 2026
Denial of service in Zabbix Server and Proxy 7.0.0 through 7.0.28 and 7.4.0 through 7.4.12 allows attackers to crash monitoring processes. The disclosed behavior identifies binary item processing as the locus, but does not identify the operation that mishandles certain NUL-byte values. Exposure requires a MySQL or MariaDB Zabbix database and a way to supply a binary item value; the required privileges are not established.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.0.0 <=7.0.28 changes=[{"at":"7.0.29","status":"unaffected"}]
