CVE-2026-59776

Physical reading and tampering of stored data

Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026

Missing cryptographic processing in Sony FeliCa IC chips shipped in or before 2017 allows physically proximate attackers to read or alter stored data. The public advisories identify a specific operation during cryptographic processing as reducing intended security but do not disclose that operation or the missing step. Exploitation requires physical proximity to the chip, no privileges, and no user interaction; confidentiality and integrity of stored data are affected.
