Admin RCE via SMTP transport option injection
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
OS command injection in Hoppscotch before 2026.6.0 allows remote authenticated users with admin rights to execute code in the backend. The updateInfraConfigs mutation stores MAILER_SMTP_URL after validateSMTPUrl accepts query parameters that Nodemailer merges into sendmail path and argument options. An admin session, the default simple-mailer configuration, a backend restart, and one outgoing email are required; execution runs as root in the official AIO container.
