Code execution via crafted BMP out-of-bounds read
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens Simcenter Femap before V2606.0001 allows attackers to execute code through a crafted BMP file. The BMP parser reads beyond its intended buffer, but Siemens has not published the affected routine or the unchecked BMP field. A user must open the file; successful exploitation runs code in the current process, while failed attempts can crash the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
