Out-of-bounds access in libXfont2 2.0.8 and earlier allows remote attackers controlling a font server to read and write heap memory. fs_read_glyphs() sizes encoding[] from num_extents but indexes it with unchecked num_chars from a separate reply. A client must connect to that server; exploitation can crash an unprivileged X server or elevate privileges when it runs as root.
