Authenticated file read via failed path validation
Published May 5, 2026 · Updated May 5, 2026
Path traversal in Roxnor EmailKit 1.6.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with Author access to read arbitrary server files. CheckForm::create_template() calls realpath() on a templates directory that may not exist, then passes the resulting false value to strpos(), which treats it as an empty needle and accepts an absolute emailkit-editor-template path. Author-level WordPress access and PHP 8.x are required; successful exploitation discloses readable server files without modifying or deleting them.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
