Stored XSS via unescaped picture source attributes
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Media WP Rocket 3.21.0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts through the rocket_beacon AJAX endpoint. The endpoint stores attacker-controlled picture source attributes without sufficient sanitization, and page generation later emits them without context-appropriate escaping. No authentication is required to plant the payload; script execution occurs in a visitor's browser when an injected page is opened, not on the server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
