Full identity-server takeover via mixed-case zone ID
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Authorization bypass in Cloud Foundry UAA before 78.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to take over UAA via the identity zone API. The endpoint compares the privileged uaa zone ID case-sensitively, but MySQL's default collation resolves mixed-case IDs to that zone, allowing its JWT signing key to be overwritten. Exploitation requires zones.write authority and a MySQL backend using the default collation; PostgreSQL and HSQLDB are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
