CVE-2026-59328Network attack vector

IDE spoofing via JavaScript-enabled dependency tooltips

Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026

Cross-site scripting in Spring Tools for Eclipse 5.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to spoof IDE content and trigger network requests. The Spring Boot starter wizard renders dependency tooltip content from a configured Initializr endpoint in an SWT Browser with JavaScript enabled, so hovering a dependency checkbox executes endpoint-supplied script. Exploitation requires an untrusted or compromised endpoint and developer interaction; effects are confined to UI spoofing and outbound beaconing, not host code execution.
