Application crash via unreleased asynchronous request tracking
Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026
Denial of service in affected Micrometer Core releases allows remote attackers to crash applications through failed asynchronous requests. MicrometerHttpClientInterceptor retains tracking state when an Apache HttpAsyncClient request fails before receiving a response, so repeated failures grow the JVM heap without bound. The application must use the interceptor and contact a hostile or unreliable endpoint; sustained resets, timeouts, or socket failures end in OutOfMemoryError.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=1.9.18
- Affected versionversion=1.14.0 <=1.14.16
- Affected versionversion=1.15.0 <=1.15.12
