Application memory exhaustion via WebSocket keepalive handling
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Denial of service in Spring for GraphQL 1.3.0 through 1.3.9, 1.4.0 through 1.4.6, and 2.0.0 through 2.0.4 allows attackers to exhaust memory. The flaw resides in WebSocketGraphQlClient keepalive handling, but Spring has not disclosed which operation retains or allocates memory without a bound. Exploitation requires keepAlive to be enabled and either control of the GraphQL server or a man-in-the-middle position on the WebSocket connection; memory exhaustion can interrupt the client application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=1.3.0 <=1.3.9
