Authenticated property tampering via unrestricted environment keys
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Improper environment modification in Spring Cloud Commons allows remote authenticated users to alter application properties through /actuator/env. The endpoint passes each supplied property key and value into the live Spring Environment and rebinds configuration without checking an allow list. Exploitation requires high-privileged access and the non-default writable endpoint in 5.0.0 through 5.0.2, 4.3.0 through 4.3.3, 4.0.0 through 4.2.6, or 3.1.10 and earlier.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=3.1.10
- Affected versionversion=4.0.0 <=4.2.6
