Credential exposure via unfiltered workspace dotenv keys
Published Jul 8, 2026 · Updated Jul 8, 2026
Credential exposure in OpenClaw before 2026.5.28 allows local users to expose provider credentials via a workspace dotenv file. The workspace dotenv loader accepted provider credential and endpoint-routing keys from lower-trust files instead of filtering protected names before environment loading. Exploitation requires the affected feature to be enabled and a lower-trust workspace or configured input path to reach it, allowing secrets or provider traffic to cross the operator trust boundary.
