Authentication bypass via unsigned Azure AD tokens
Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Improper JWT verification in Apache Airflow FAB provider before 3.7.3 allows remote attackers to assume arbitrary user identities. The _decode_and_validate_azure_jwt function decodes Azure AD ID tokens with signature verification disabled when the option is absent. Exposure requires the FAB auth manager, Azure AD OAuth, and an ID token reaching the callback; forged claims can grant the Admin role.
