Deactivated-user model execution via stale authorization checks
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Improper authorization in Open WebUI 0.9.0 through versions before 0.10.0 allows remote authenticated users to continue scheduled model execution. execute_automation rehydrates a stored owner without rechecking the role or automations permission, while check_model_access applies private-model grants only to the exact user role. Exploitation requires an active automation created before deactivation or permission revocation; later runs consume provider quota and shared capacity without exposing other users' data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
