Cross-channel message disclosure via unbound thread parent
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Authorization bypass in Open WebUI before 0.10.0 allows remote authenticated users to read private-channel messages across channels. get_messages_by_parent_id loads a supplied parent_id by ID alone and appends the parent without verifying that its channel matches the authorized URL channel. Exploitation requires an authenticated account and a known victim message ID; each request exposes one message plus its channel and author metadata.
