Credential exposure in n8n before 1.123.61, 2.27.4, and 2.28.1 allows remote authenticated users to read shared HTTP headers. The HTTP Request node places credential-populated headers in the $request object while evaluating a user-controlled pagination expression, which can copy the secret into item data for later exfiltration. Exploitation requires N8N_EXPRESSION_ENGINE=vm and use-only access to a shared, paginated workflow that uses an HTTP Header Auth credential.
