Credential exfiltration via unenforced MCP domain restrictions
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Credential exposure in n8n before 2.27.4 or 2.28.0 allows remote authenticated users to send shared secrets to external servers. The AI Agents MCP connector sends a selected shared credential to an arbitrary tool URL without applying its Allowed HTTP Request Domains restriction. Exploitation requires the agents module, a domain-restricted credential shared use-only with a member-level user, and permission to run an agent; it discloses that credential to an attacker-controlled server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
