Filesystem writes via config dependency path traversal

Path traversal in pnpm before 10.34.4 and pnpm 11 before 11.8.0 allows remote attackers to write symlinks via a malicious lockfile. The config dependency installer passes unvalidated env-lockfile keys to path.join as symlink destinations under node_modules/.pnpm-config, allowing dot-dot components to escape that directory. Exploitation requires a user or CI job to install a malicious or compromised repository; scripts can remain disabled, and writes depend on path permissions.
