Process-memory disclosure via unchecked shared-memory indices
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Data::Intern::Shared before 0.02 allows local users to disclose process memory through a writable backing file. si_idx_find follows mmap-controlled slot IDs, reverse offsets, and arena length prefixes without validating them against count or arena bounds. Exploitation requires write access to the backing file; poisoned indices can expose adjacent process memory during id_of, intern, or string lookups.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
