Memory disclosure and crash via unvalidated bucket metadata
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Data::RoaringBitmap::Shared before 0.02 allows local users to read adjacent memory or crash a process. The rb_contains_locked routine derives a container pointer from an unchecked file-stored offset and scans it using an unchecked file-stored cardinality. Exploitation requires a local peer able to modify the backing file; a poisoned bucket is reached when the process performs a membership query.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
