Memory disclosure and crash via unchecked arena bounds
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Data::ReqRep::Shared before 0.05 allows local users to disclose process memory or crash a receiving process. reqrep_recv_locked passes a shared request slot's raw arena offset and length to memcpy without checking either value against req_arena_cap. Exploitation requires write access to the backing file and can read memory beyond the request arena or terminate the process handling the poisoned slot.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
