CVE-2026-58941

Local privilege escalation via misaligned IOMMU mappings

Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in Android kernel pKVM IOMMU code allows local users to elevate privileges through misaligned mapping requests. The map, unmap, and scatter-gather paths accepted page-misaligned IOVA or physical addresses without rejecting them before mapping operations. The path is limited to affected arm64 devices using Protected KVM; exploitation needs local access but no user interaction.
