Local privilege escalation via missing FsmReleaseKey check
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Permission bypass in the Android kernel allows local users with System execution privileges to escalate privileges without interaction. FsmReleaseKey in fsm.c releases a key without performing the required permission check, allowing the caller to bypass that authorization boundary. Exploitation requires an existing System execution context; the published record does not identify a broader remote or low-privilege path.
