Cross-project task corruption via missing ownership check
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Authorization bypass in Kanboard 1.2.52 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to corrupt tasks across projects. BoardAjaxController::save authorizes the supplied project_id but passes an unrelated attacker-controlled task_id to movePosition, which updates board-location fields by task ID alone. Membership in any project and access to its reusable CSRF token reach the endpoint; a successful request hides the victim task from its owning board without deleting it.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
