Local privilege escalation via freed stream context
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft's Windows Cloud Files Mini Filter Driver allows local users to elevate privileges on affected Windows systems. CldiStreamCompleteRequest deletes an orphaned timed-out provider request, freeing its last stream-context reference, then dereferences that context. Exploitation requires low-privileged local code to create and abandon a Cloud Filter provider request before forcing timeout processing; successful exploitation gains elevated privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
