CVE-2026-58530

Local code execution via ReFS heap overflow

Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026

Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Windows ReFS allows local users to execute arbitrary code after user interaction. Microsoft identifies ReFS as the affected component but has not published the parsing path, malformed structure, or memory-copy operation that overruns the heap. Exploitation requires local access and user interaction; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code on the affected host.
