Command execution via shell-expanded issue titles
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Command injection in gouef githubtoplanguages before 1.1.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands via issue titles. The .github/workflows/discord-issue.yml workflow expands github.event.issue.title inside a Bash assignment before shell parsing, so command-substitution syntax executes on the Actions runner. An attacker needs permission to open an issue; successful exploitation can spoof Discord bot notifications and expose workflow secrets or environment data allowed by repository permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
