Stored HTML injection via unescaped display name
Published Jul 13, 2026 · Updated Jul 13, 2026
Stored HTML injection in HedgeDoc 1.10.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter viewed pages via a crafted email address. Registration accepts a quoted-string email local-part, reuses it as the display name, and renders it unescaped in publish, slide, and editor HTML. Open email registration is required; the injected markup can change page content and embed cross-origin iframes, while CSP blocks straightforward inline script execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
