Configuration disclosure via safe-delete XPath injection
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
XPath injection in OPNsense before 26.1.11 allows remote authenticated users to read configuration metadata via delete requests. ApiMutableModelControllerBase::delBase() passes unvalidated URL tokens into an XPath expression over config.xml, exposing cross-module names, descriptions, reference paths, and UUIDs through error responses and enabling substring-presence queries. Access requires one affected module privilege; these requests neither modify configuration nor delete items.
