Authenticated code execution via oversized password values
Published Apr 9, 2026 · Updated Apr 9, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC15 15.03.05.18 allows remote authenticated users to crash httpd or execute code. The fromSysToolChangePwd handler accepts oversized oldPwd, newPwd, and cfmPwd POST values through websGetVar without length limits, then compares them with a 64-byte stack buffer. Exploitation requires LAN reachability and a valid session cookie; successful memory corruption interrupts router administration or executes code in the web service context.
