Authenticated service hang via unsafe sync regex
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
ReDoS in Sync-in Server before 2.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service through a crafted sync path filter. SyncDiffDto compiles pathFilters directly as a RegExp, and synchronous test() calls can catastrophically backtrack on relative file paths. A non-guest account with desktop sync access, a registered client, and a matching worst-case path are required; the event loop and all HTTP requests then hang.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
