Browser script execution via unencoded Category parameter
Published Apr 9, 2026 · Updated Apr 9, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Code Projects Simple IT Discussion Forum 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through the Category parameter. edit-category.php places the parameter's untrusted value into the generated page without encoding or filtering, so a crafted script runs in a visitor's browser. Exploitation requires a victim to load the affected page; the script can act with that browser session's privileges, including accessing non-HttpOnly session data.
