Authenticated file disclosure via spreadsheet external references
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
XML external entity injection in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence allows remote authenticated users to read server-side files. Web Intelligence processes attacker-uploaded spreadsheets as data sources and resolves malicious external references, embedding sensitive server-side file contents in the generated report. A low-privileged account with spreadsheet-upload access is required, and the disclosed impact is limited to confidentiality.
