CVE-2026-58222Network attack vector

Authenticated protected-attribute disclosure via LDAP Compare injection

Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026

LDAP filter injection in Samba AD DC 4.0.0 and later allows remote authenticated users to disclose protected attributes via Compare requests. The LDAP CompareRequest path formats an unvalidated attribute name and unescaped assertion value into an LDB filter, then runs the search as trusted so ACL checks are skipped. Any ordinary domain account can use ordered true-or-false responses to reconstruct confidential values; on 4.21.0 and later with gMSAs, a recovered KDS root key enables offline password derivation and domain compromise when a privileged gMSA exists.
