Denial of service via chunk-decoder buffer overrun
Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Apache Traffic Server's multiplexer plugin allows remote attackers to interrupt service via upstream input. Its chunk decoder writes beyond the allocated decode buffer while processing data returned by a multiplexed origin. Exploitation requires the multiplexer remap plugin to be configured; the resulting memory corruption is reported only as denial of service in 8.0.0 through 8.1.9, 9.0.0 through 9.2.14, and 10.0.0 through 10.1.3.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.0.0 <=10.1.3
