Remote service interruption via intercept use-after-free
Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Use-after-free in the Apache Traffic Server intercept plugin allows remote attackers to interrupt the affected proxy service. Apache has not published the affected function, freed object's lifetime, or request sequence that triggers the stale access. A deployment must expose the intercept-plugin path, and an additional attack condition must be present; vendor metrics bound the reported consequence to availability loss.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.0.0 <=10.1.3
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=8.1.9
- Affected versionversion=9.0.0 <=9.2.14

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
